The iconic time of schoolies is approaching. But lo and behold, schoolies in Queensland has been canned. And it's very likely overseas schoolies will be too.

Boh oh boy, it's a lot to unpackage. Chances are you're feeling defeated and disheartened. I know, I know, corona is a real vibe dampener, to say the least.

But don't fret! Here are some other ways to celebrate the end of assessments, textbooks, late-night cramming, pop quizzes, homework and detention, (for me, it was a lot of detention). Your 13 years of school are finito! So let's get LIT - just not on the goldie or anywhere overseas.

1. Camping

Some of my best mems come from camping trips. Drunken games of cards. Hillarious convos whilst toasting marshmallows. Making delish meals with a good ol' portable gas stove. Sleeping in a tent under the stars. Thinking I was going to be eaten by a fox... I'm KIDDING! Camping is honestly a viiibe.

Grab some friends, borrow some camping equipment and suss out free camping sites or caravan parks in the destination of choice, whether that's in the bush or near the beach!

2. Fridge to fridge

This is how you really celebrate the end of school in style.

What's a fridge to fridge you may ask? Let me enlighten you.

A fridge to fridge is similar to a pub crawl in that you're going from house to house. And your attire is most likely a whack costume.

You would have around six houses that are reasonably close in walking distance, decked out with snacks, activities (beer pong, goon of fortune, twister...etc), speakers blaring classics and of course, bevvies!!! You may customise the rules eg: at each house, everyone has to take a shot.

Normally a fridge to fridge would start around lunchtime and end when everyone inevitably crashes from exhaustion and intoxication into the night.

3. Road trip

Fun fact, to drive non-stop around Australia (including a return ferry to Tassie - I would never forget about you guys), would take 14 whole days. Our island in the ass-end of space is HUGE and has all types of sights, scenery like beaches, mountains, bushes and deserts. So it's time to capitalise on our beautiful backyard and take a road trip!

I mean, is there anything better than driving with your mates, windows down, music blaring, abundant in snacks, vibey views and good conversation? I don't think so.

If you're stuck when it comes to destinations, here are seven destinations that may tickle your fancy!

4. Good ole' House party (with social distancing, of course)

Sometimes goin' back to the basics is what is needed. So chuck together a MASSIVE house party. It can be a day party, night party or even a three day party.

If you really wanna make it fun, make it a themed party too. Not sure which theme? Don't worry, we got you covered fam.

P.S make sure you social distance, though! And god damn put that hand sanitiser on tap!

5. Book an Airbnb anywhere

If these aren't resonating with you or speaking to your soul, why not grab your closest mates and split an Airbnb for a few days? It could be in a funky city, the outback or a small coastal town. Whatever floats your dingy! No matter what you're looking for, some r & r time or, of course, an opportunity away from your 'rents to chill in comfort, here's your chance!

Look, your 13 years of school are coming to an end. You guys are gonna graduate in unprecedented times. But don't let schoolies being cancelled get you bogged down and now ruin your end of school celebrating!

Have fun, party hard but most importantly, stay safe!
